What The Hemp

Hemp? What does it have to do with mask filters? Well Hemp is the fibre from the non-intoxicating version of the cannabis plant. Hemp is one of the strongest and most durable natural fibers. Not only is it long-lasting, but its uniquely structured weave is both breathable and insulating and has been used for thousands of years as an industrial fibre, especially in ropes, sails and sacks.

Our processing technology has now helped us convert this coarse fabric into an exceedingly soft by-product that feels blissful when it touches your skin. The fibre has inherent moisture-wicking properties that keep sweat and humidity at bay. Hemp also contains naturally occurring chemical compounds that make the fibre naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic, resistant to mould and blocks out UV light.

Apart from working wonders for your filter, Hemp reduces the toxic impact of effluent generation on the planet. It is a fast-growing crop that produces double the yield of cotton while using the same amount of land. It uses less water and is so fast-growing that weeds don’t stand a chance this leads to farmers using significantly less amounts of pesticides.
